Barrett Elementary Celebrates 40 Years Sunday, Sept. 10

September 8, 2000

Barrett Elementary School will celebrate four decades of educating children with two-hours of festivities on Sunday, September 10.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the school, located at 2900 Richard Allen Court.

The program includes songs by Linda Donna, a recognition by Clara Sims, and a slide presentation entitled "Remember When." Tours of the building and dancing will round out the celebration.

The school is named for Harry Barrett, a journalist, educator, and former principal of East High School.

The school is currently known as the Barrett Zoological Academy and ties much of its classroom efforts to the nearby Denver Zoo.
