DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS LAUNCHES MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAM

August 10, 2000

Denver Public Schools is initiating the Migrant Education Program for school children of migratory workers in the Denver Metropolitan area. Migrant Education provides a variety of resources and support services for migratory families who work in:

  • Farming or ranching
  • Poultry, dairies or dairy products
  • Food processing, preserved or canned foods
  • Meat and food packing plants
  • Bakeries or tortilla factories
  • Orchards, sod farms, or green houses
  • Or other agricultural activity.

ESCUELAS PUBLICAS DE DENVER PROGRAMA PARA MIGRANTES

Las escuelas publicas de Denver, inicia un programa para estudiantes cuyos padres trabajan en:

  • Cultivos agricolas o ganaderias
  • Granjas avicolas y sus producots
  • Productos lacteos (de leche)
  • Comida procesada, conservada o enlatada
  • Matanza, empacadora de carne
  • Carnes or productos procesados
  • Panaderias, tortillerias
  • Jardineria, huertas o invernaderos actividades agricola
