Manual Principal Selection Process
One of the most important steps in the Manual renewal process is to find a top-notch principal to lead the new Manual. The Manual search process will closely mirror the current DPS principal selection process:
- DPS instructional Superintendent and staff will select up to five final candidates.
- Instead of the Collaborative School Committees (CSCs), in the Manual case, a committee of community and education representatives (listed below) will interview finalists and identify strengths/challenges/opportunities of each candidate.
- Recommendations will be submitted to the Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer.
- Superintendent Michael Bennet and Chief Academic Officer Jaime Aquino will make final selection/hire.
DHR International, an executive search firm, will assist the District to help cast a wide net to better identify the best candidates for the position. In addition to finding a school leader for Manual, the search firm may be used to help fill other open principal and staff positions in DPS.
