Manual Renewal - Manual Mentors
Following the announcement of the closing of Manual High School, and a call for the Denver community to come together to support Manual students from Superintendent Bennet, over 300 adults (120 DPS employees) stepped up and agreed to be mentors for Manual students during the transition. The commitment is to provide every Manual student who wants a mentor an adult to support them through this transition.
Goal of Manual Mentoring Initiative - Support Manual students in successfully transitioning to their new school. Specific outcomes the Manual Mentoring Initiative is committed to fulfilling include:
- Support youth in staying in school
- Help support students in feeling welcomed and integrated
- Help link students to resources such as the Manual Academic Resource Center (The M.A.R.C.), transportation hotline, community resources and others
