My memory is of the kindest, most caring teacher ever, Mrs. Joyce Davis.Ê Mrs. Davis was the choir teacher at Manual High School when I attended from the '76-'77 through the '78-'79 school years.
She was a music teacher and so much more.Ê She always made every student feel likeÊa special and important person.Ê At a time when self-esteem was in short supply, she made me feel like I truly was someone who mattered to the world.Ê She was an inspiration to me to treat all people the way I would like to be treated and to be honest and caring.Ê This is a skill that stays with me over 20 years later.Ê I think of her often and am thankful that I was fortunate enough to be one of her students.
